The IAR-99 Soim was designed and built by Avioane Craiova and first flew on 21 December 1985, entering Romanian Air Force service in 1987 as a replacement for the L-29 Delfin and L-39 Albatros in the advanced training role. The IAR-99C is the upgraded variant, fitted with modernised avionics and a glass cockpit, and capable of light attack and reconnaissance work alongside training duties. This is a limited run resin kit from Lift Here! Models of Serbia, covering a subject the larger manufacturers have never tooled.
