Description
KITKH80144 - Kitty Hawk 1/48 Sukhoi Su-17 M3/M4 Fitter-K - WWHP111423
Preowned, Resealed, Mint
The Sukhoi Su-17 (NATO: Fitter) was a variable-sweep wing fighter-bomber derived from the Su-7, entering Soviet service in 1970. The Su-17M3 (Fitter-H) introduced a deeper dorsal spine with additional avionics and fuel, based on the airframe of the two-seat UM trainer. The Su-17M4 (Fitter-K) was the final production single-seat variant, identifiable by the ram-air cooling intake at the base of the vertical stabilizer and a substantially upgraded navigation and targeting suite. Both variants served widely with Soviet and successor-state air forces through the 1990s.
This is the first boxing in Kitty Hawk's 1/48 Fitter family, covering Soviet-operated aircraft. The export-marked Su-22 variants follow in KH80146.
