Description

ILK62403 - I Love Kits - 1/24 Fokker Dr.I - WWHP113525

Preowned, Resealed, Mint

The Fokker Dr.I reached the Front late in 1917, a stubby triplane built around a rotary engine and a welded steel tube fuselage, and it stayed in service barely nine months. What it lacked in speed it made up in climb and turn, and it became permanently attached to the reputation of Manfred von Richthofen, who scored his last victories on the type. At 1/24 the airframe's cage-like internal structure and cowling detail get room to show, which is much of the appeal of building it this big.

In the box:

  • Five sprues of grey styrene, 130 plus parts
  • Full steel tube fuselage framework moulded for interior detail, with cockpit fittings
  • Oberursel rotary engine and twin LMG 08/15 machine guns, engine and propeller fixed rather than turning
  • Photo-etched fret for machine gun cooling jackets and control surface horns
  • Two waterslide decal sheets: national crosses, serials and lettering on one, and the streaked green factory finish supplied as decals on the second
  • Two marking options: 152/17 flown by Manfred von Richthofen, and 213/17 flown by Fritz Kempf carrying the Kennscht mi noch? slogan
  • Multi-page instruction booklet with colour painting and marking guide, paint callouts cross-referenced to Mr Hobby, Vallejo, Model Master, Tamiya and Humbrol
  • Finished model measures 236.8 mm long with a 300 mm wingspan
  • Cement, paint and tools not included
