ICM72073 - ICM 1/72 I-16 type 28 WWII Soviet Fighter - WWHP113480
Preowned, Resealed, Mint inside, Box worn
Polikarpov's I-16 was the world's first cantilever monoplane fighter with retractable undercarriage to reach squadron service, and it carried the Soviet fighter force from the Spanish Civil War through to the German invasion. The Type 28 was one of the last variants, with the M-63 engine, 20mm ShVAK cannon in the wings, and underwing rails for RS-82 rockets.
This is ICM kit 72073 in 1/72. Moulded in white styrene on a single parts tree with a small clear windscreen, a detailed radial engine with separate pushrods and exhaust manifold inside a five part cowling, and a cockpit with stick, rudder bar, and instrument panel. 52 parts, finished model 85mm long with a 135mm span. Decals cover a 158 IAP aircraft over Leningrad in 1941 and White 96 of 4 GIAP, Baltic Fleet, in 1942.
