The Fokker E.IV was the final and most powerful production version of the Eindecker, the monoplane that introduced synchronized machine guns firing through the propeller and gave rise to the "Fokker Scourge" over the Western Front. Built on Fokker's steel-tube frame and powered by a 160 hp two-row Oberursel rotary, it carried up to three synchronized machine guns and entered service in March 1916. Germany's first great aces, Oswald Boelcke and Max Immelmann, both scored victories in the E.IV, and ICM tooled this kit new in 2000 as part of its Famous Planes (1914-1918) series.
