Description
IBG35003 - IBG 1/35 Einheitsdiesel Pritschenwagen (Metal Cargo Body) - WWHP111432
Preowned, Resealed, Mint
The Einheitsdiesel ("Uniform Diesel") was a technically sophisticated German 3-ton truck built from 1937 to 1940 by seven manufacturers including MAN, Büssing-NAG, Magirus, and Daimler-Benz. Its six-wheel drive and individual suspension on all wheels gave it exceptional off-road capability, making it popular with Wehrmacht and Luftwaffe units alike. The downside was a relatively low payload of 2,375kg despite a kerb weight of nearly 5 tons — what ultimately ended production in 1940 in favour of cheaper two-axle designs with comparable cross-country performance. The type served in nearly every role: cargo truck, radio van, telephone exchange vehicle, field kitchen, and workshop truck.
The Pritschenwagen is the standard metal flatbed cargo variant. All-new IBG tooling; first release 2010.
