The Boeing B-17G was the definitive production variant of the Flying Fortress and the backbone of the USAAF's strategic bombing campaign over Europe. The G model introduced the Bendix chin turret to address head-on fighter attacks, bringing total defensive armament to thirteen .50-calibre machine guns. Over 8,600 B-17Gs were built, flying with the Eighth Air Force from England on daylight precision bombing raids against German industrial and military targets through 1944 and 1945. This kit is produced under official Boeing licence.
