HEL82300 - Heller 1/72 E-2C Hawkeye

The Grumman E-2C Hawkeye is the U.S. Navy's carrier-based airborne early warning and command aircraft, instantly recognisable for its large rotating rotodome radar disc mounted above the fuselage. Designed from the outset for carrier operations, it features folding wings to fit below deck — a feature Heller has replicated in the kit, which can be built with wings either extended or folded. The propeller configuration is also a choice: the kit accommodates either 4-blade or 8-blade propellers. At 1/72, the finished model measures 244mm long. Notably, this is an all-new-tool kit and not a rebox of Heller's older E-2C (kit 80349, tooled in the 1990s from a CC Lee mould) — a meaningful distinction for anyone familiar with the earlier, less refined release.
