Description
HEL80451 - Heller 1/125 Lockheed L-1011 Tristar
The Lockheed L-1011 TriStar was one of the great wide-body airliners of the 1970s — a three-engine, wide-cabin jet that earned a strong reputation for reliability and handling, and the nickname "Lucky Ten-Eleven" among the pilots who flew it. It was Lockheed's last commercial aircraft. In Europe, the TriStar was closely associated with two operators in particular: British Airways, which operated it on intercontinental routes from Heathrow, and German holiday charter airline LTU, which relied exclusively on the type for over two decades flying leisure routes to the Mediterranean and beyond. Heller's 1/125 scale kit — tooling dating back to 1979 — captures the classic L-1011-1 variant with decals for both operators. The 2025 rebox updates the decal sheet while retaining the original mould.
