Lisbon hosted Expo 98, the last World’s Fair of the 20th century. Its theme was “The Oceans, a Heritage for the Future,” and it marked 500 years since Vasco da Gama’s sea voyage to India. To promote the event, TAP Air Portugal painted Boeing 737-300 CS-TIB in a bright special livery of ocean-inspired splashes in red, blue, orange and yellow, with the Expo 98 logo on the tail.
