Description

HEA550284 - Herpa 1/200 Western Pacific Airlines Boeing 737-300 "Sam's Town"

Western Pacific Airlines started flying from Colorado Springs in 1995 and became known for its “logo jets,” Boeing 737s painted as flying billboards for paying sponsors. One of the best known was N955WP, which advertised Boyd Gaming’s Sam’s Town casinos. It wore an all-gold scheme with huge “Sam’s Town” titles, a cowgirl on the tail and the casino locations along the fuselage. The airline shut down in 1998, which makes its colourful logo jets popular subjects for collectors.
