HBB80386 - Hobbyboss - 1/48 F4U-4 Corsair early vers
On the final lap of the 1990 Daytona 500, Dale Earnhardt dominated the race, leading the majority of the event and appearing set for victory. However, after cutting a tire in Turn 3 due to debris, he was forced to slow dramatically, opening the door for Derrike Cope in the #10 Purolator Chevrolet Lumina. Cope, driving a modestly funded single-car team for owner Bob Whitcomb, inherited the lead and secured one of the most shocking victories in NASCAR history. The win became Cope’s defining career moment and one of the most memorable upsets ever seen at Daytona.
This kit is a 1/24 scale reissue of the classic Chevrolet Lumina NASCAR tooling originally released by Monogram in the early 1990s during the golden era of stock car racing model kits. It features authentic body proportions, period-correct racing details, and is molded for straightforward assembly, making it a popular choice for both collectors and builders of vintage NASCAR subjects. The included Purolator #10 decals allow builders to recreate Cope’s legendary 1990 Daytona 500-winning car with accurate sponsor markings and race livery.
