JAL's 737-400s handled domestic and regional short haul work, and in the late 1990s the airline applied small floral motifs to a group of them under the Flower Jet name, each aircraft carrying a different bloom just aft of the forward door. This boxing covers three of them, Cosmos, Gentian and Sunflower, with JA8991 shown on the box art. The aircraft wear the tsurumaru crane on the fin, the JAL identity dropped in 2002 and revived in 2011, so the scheme belongs to a specific window in the airline's history.
