The Bell P-39 Airacobra was one of the more unconventional American fighters of World War II, with its Allison V-1710 engine mounted amidships behind the cockpit to allow a 37mm cannon to fire through the propeller hub. While it underperformed at high altitude and saw limited success with the USAAF, the P-39 found its most effective use with Soviet forces, who received the majority of production under Lend-Lease and employed it with great success at low altitudes on the Eastern Front. This Hasegawa kit covers the late-production P-39Q and P-39N variants in 1:48 scale.
