The Ram Badger was a Canadian flamethrower conversion of the Ram tank, developed to give the Wasp flame projector a better-protected and more mobile platform than the Universal Carrier it was normally mounted on. The flame gun replaced the hull machine gun, with fuel and pressurising equipment carried inside the hull, giving a reach of roughly 80 to 100 yards. Late-production Mk II Badgers added an armoured roof over the fighting compartment and a small auxiliary turret for self-defence, and served with Canadian armoured units in North-West Europe from early 1945.
