The Burning of the Westfold is a narrative supplement for the Middle-earth Strategy Battle Game covering Rohan's role in the War of the Ring, from the opening Isengard raids on Westfold villages through to the Rohirrim's charge at the Pelennor Fields. The journal contains 11 linked Narrative Scenarios drawing on events from The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers and The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King, including the Fords of Isen, the defence of Helm's Deep, the Warg Attack on Théoden's refugees, and the Ride of the Rohirrim. Scenarios include fresh designs alongside reimagined missions from previous editions of the game.

The hobby section covers terrain construction and painting guides specific to the Rohan theatre: tutorials for converting the Rohan House kit into a great hall, stables, storehouses, and burned-out wreckage; step-by-step guides for recreating the Plains of Rohan and the Fords of Isen as gaming boards; and tips for painting horses.
