Preowned, Resealed, Mint
The Chaparral 2D was Jim Hall's closed bodywork development of the 2A, built for the 1966 World Sportscar Championship with the trunk space and spare tyre that Group 6 regulations demanded. It inherited the movable wing pioneered on the 2C, though a fixed spoiler was substituted after the debut race, and the semi automatic transmission went from two speeds to three. For the European rounds the car was revised again with quad headlights, a roof mounted air box and shortened intake manifolds. In that form Phil Hill and Jo Bonnier won the Nürburgring 1000 km in May 1966, the first major international win for an American constructor in years. Fujimi's kit represents the later 1966 European specification and is aimed at advanced modellers.
