Description
FRG328P - Frog 1/72 Hawker Sea Hawk - WWHP111710
Preowned, Resealed, Mint
The Hawker Sea Hawk was the Fleet Air Arm's first-generation jet fighter, distinguished by its bifurcated jet pipe that kept the fuselage slim around the Rolls-Royce Nene engine. Entering service in 1953, it flew ground-attack sorties from Royal Navy carriers during the 1956 Suez campaign and served with the Dutch, German, and Indian navies. Box art depicts WF163 of 806 Squadron, embarked in HMS Eagle.
This is the original 1955 Frog tooling in its first-issue box, a notable piece of early British kit history predating most of the Airfix range.
Box contents:
- Interlocking parts molded in high-impact polystyrene, F.Mk.1 airframe
- Clear Frog universal display stand with name transfer
- Tube of polystyrene cement (originally included; vintage cement should not be used)
- Coloured decals for 806 Squadron Royal Navy markings
- Instructions and plans
