The Savoia S.21 is the scarlet experimental fighter flying boat flown by the title character in Hayao Miyazaki's 1992 Studio Ghibli film Porco Rosso (紅の豚, Kurenai no Buta). In the film's story it is a one-off Italian prototype, re-engined with an Isotta-Fraschini and flown by the pig-faced bounty-hunter ace over the Adriatic in the 1920s. The design draws on the era's real Schneider Trophy racing flying boats, though the aircraft itself is fictional. This kit was developed under Miyazaki's supervision and captures the aircraft's distinctive lines. This is the early-type S.21 as seen in the first half of the film.
