The Merkava is an Israeli main battle tank developed by the IDF and entering service in 1979, designed with an unusual front-mounted engine layout that places the powerpack ahead of the crew for added protection. This configuration also frees a rear compartment used for ammunition stowage or for carrying infantry. The type first saw combat in Lebanon in 1982 and has been progressively developed through several marks that remain in Israeli service today.

This is a 1/72 scale plastic model kit.
