This Modern Sea Power Series set pairs two Cold War adversaries beneath the North Atlantic. HMS Trafalgar (S107) led the Royal Navy's Trafalgar class of nuclear-powered fleet attack submarines, commissioned in the early 1980s. The Soviet Oscar class were very large nuclear-powered cruise missile submarines (SSGNs), built to carry anti-ship missiles against carrier groups. The set adds a BAe Nimrod MR.2 maritime patrol aircraft and a Westland Sea King HAS.5 helicopter to complete the anti-submarine warfare scene.
