The Sd.Kfz.7 was the Wehrmacht's standard 8-tonne prime mover, used throughout the war to tow heavy weapons including the 8.8 cm FlaK 18/36 and the 15 cm sFH 18 howitzer. Capable of carrying up to 12 men in its theatre-style rear seating, it was produced by Krauss-Maffei, Borgward, and others from 1938 through the end of the war. The 1943 production variant introduced several rationalisations: turn signals, sidelights, and brake lights were deleted from March 1943 onward, new hull sides and a revised rear plate (omitting the spare wheel compartment door) were introduced, and a coolant preheater was added to the front right footstep. Dragon's 6794 is the third release in their Smart Kit Sd.Kfz.7 series (following the Initial and Early Production kits), tooled in 2014 with newly designed parts specific to the 1943 variant.
