The Sukhoi Su-24 was the Soviet Union's answer to the F-111, a variable-geometry, two-seat strike aircraft built for all-weather, low-level penetration deep into enemy territory. The upgraded Su-24M "Fencer-D" entered service in 1983 with a longer nose, an in-flight refuelling probe and a laser and TV targeting system for precision-guided weapons, and it became the backbone of the Soviet and later Russian tactical bomber force. Dragon's 1992 kit from the Air Superiority Series captures the Fencer-D with a comprehensive load of guided munitions.
