The Curtiss-Wright AT-9 Jeep was a twin-engine advanced trainer developed for the US Army Air Forces in the early 1940s to bridge the gap between single-engine trainers and high-performance multi-engine combat aircraft. Its deliberately demanding handling prepared pilots for types like the B-25 and P-38, and roughly 800 were built during the Second World War. Few survive today, making it an unusual subject in 1/48 scale.
