DEL5 - Delta 2 1/72 Macchi C. 205 V - WWHP113163
Preowned, Resealed, Mint inside, Box worn
The Macchi C.205 V Veltro was designed by Mario Castoldi and developed from the C.202 Folgore by fitting the Daimler-Benz DB 605 engine, built under licence in Italy by Fiat as the RA.1050 RC.58 Tifone. It first flew on 19 April 1942 and reached Regia Aeronautica squadrons in 1943, armed with two 12.7mm Breda-SAFAT machine guns in the cowling and two 20mm MG 151 cannon in the wings on the Serie III aircraft. Fewer than 300 were completed before the armistice ended production, and the type is widely regarded as the finest Italian fighter of the war.
