The Sd.Kfz.6 was a German medium half-track in the 5-tonne class, developed by Büssing-NAG and used as a prime mover and troop carrier through the early and middle war years. The BN9b was one of the production series, and the Pioneer (engineer) version was configured to transport assault engineer squads and tow their equipment, seeing service on multiple fronts including the Eastern Front. Production wound down around 1943 as towed-artillery and prime-mover roles were consolidated into fewer half-track types.
