Citadel Dry Paints — Warhammer Colour
Complete colour listing · 12ml · Formulated for drybrushing Warhammer miniatures and basing · Now branded Warhammer Colour
The fastest highlighting technique for textured surfaces
Citadel Dry paints have a thick, paste-like consistency with reduced medium — designed specifically for drybrushing. Load a stiff-bristle drybrush, wipe off nearly all the paint on a tissue until barely any transfers, then lightly drag across raised surfaces to deposit paint only on the highest points. The result is fast, convincing highlighting with no blending required. The 31 colours cover every drybrushing need in the Warhammer hobby: metallics for Necrons and armour, bone and stone tones for basing and ruins, and faction-specific skin and armour highlights.
All Dry paints are 12ml in Citadel's wide-mouth flip-top pot. The thick consistency means the pot lasts considerably longer than a standard Layer pot used for drybrushing. Citadel also produce dedicated Dry brushes — the Small, Medium, and Large Dry Brush are stocked in-store. Click any SKU to check availability.
How to drybrush with Citadel Dry paints
Load a stiff, flat Dry brush with paint, then wipe vigorously on a tissue until the brush leaves almost no visible mark. Run the brush lightly across raised areas of the model — fur, armour edges, rubble, scales, feathers. The paint catches only on the highest surfaces. Repeat with progressively lighter colours for a natural-looking highlight graduation.
For basing, drybrush heavily over textured paste with a large dry brush for instant, realistic ground texture highlighting. Use the Large Dry Brush for bases and terrain, Medium for large models and vehicle panels, Small for tight areas on infantry.

Extreme edge highlight drybrush for white Space Marine armour (White Scars, Deathwing), Stormcast Eternals cloaks, pale stone and marble terrain, Nighthaunt spectral cloth, and any model needing the brightest possible dry highlight. | CIT23-22 | Wrack White | Named for the Wrack — Drukhari torture specialists. Off-white drybrush. Used as a mid-stage white drybrush before Praxeti White, and as a highlight drybrush on pale cream or bone-coloured surfaces — Wraithbone armour, undead bone, Necron constructs, and pale stone ruins. Slightly warmer than Praxeti White — better for warm-toned pale surfaces. |
| CIT23-10 | Tyrant Skull | Pale warm bone. Named for the Tyrant — the fearsome Ogor leader. The standard drybrush for bone, skull, and skeleton surfaces — dragged over undead models (Ossiarch Bonereapers, Deathrattle, Flesh-Eater Courts) after Agrax Earthshade to bring the bone highlight to life.
