The Piper PA-18 Super Cub first flew in 1949 as a more powerful development of the famous J-3 Cub, and its short takeoff ability and rugged simplicity made it a favourite of bush pilots, crop dusters, flight schools and military observation units for decades. Bandai released this 1/48 kit in the 1970s as part of its US-market Weekend Wings series, moulded in precoloured plastic and depicting the Japanese-registered PA-18-135 JA3288.
