Description
5060392 - Bandai HG 1/144 RX-78GP01fb Gundam GP01fb
The Bandai HG 1/144 RX-78GP01Fb Gundam GP01Fb (5060392) is a High Grade model kit from Mobile Suit Gundam 0083: Stardust Memory, representing the upgraded Full Burnern (Fb) space-use version of the GP01 Gundam.
This version of the GP01 is rebuilt for high-performance space combat after heavy damage, and the HG kit reflects that focus with a design centered on mobility, thrusters, and space maneuverability rather than ground combat.
The kit includes its signature equipment:
- Beam Rifle
- Shield
- Beam Sabers
- Core Fighter II (removable and displayable)
One of the most distinctive features is the Universal Boost Pods mounted on the backpack, which replace the original wings and provide extreme maneuverability in space. These are accurately modeled with movable thruster parts for dynamic posing.
The GP01Fb also includes additional verniers and thrusters across the body, especially on the shoulders, legs, and backpack, emphasizing its high-speed “Full Burnern” upgrade concept.
Even though it’s an older HG kit (first released around 2000), it still holds appeal because of:
- Solid proportions true to the 0083 design
- Simple but effective snap-fit build
- Removable Core Fighter gimmick
- Classic early-HG mechanical styling
Articulation is more limited compared to modern HGs, but it still allows recognizable action poses like:
- Beam rifle firing stances
- Space “boosting” poses with backpack thrusters
- Core Fighter separation display setups
The GP01Fb is especially liked by 0083 fans because it represents the “fully upgraded” version of the GP01 after its transformation into a space-specialized mobile suit. It has a more utilitarian, military feel compared to flashier Gundams, focusing on function and performance.
Overall, the Bandai HG GP01Fb is a classic UC kit with strong nostalgia value, a simple build, and one of the most recognizable early Gundam “space upgrade” designs in the HG lineup.
