Description
AUA140-129 - Aurora 1/48 Northrop N-156 Freedom Fighter - WWHP111822
Preowned, Resealed, Mint
The Northrop N-156 was the lightweight supersonic prototype that led directly to the F-5 Freedom Fighter, developed in the late 1950s around a pair of General Electric J85 turbojets. Only three N-156 prototypes were built before the design entered production as the F-5, which went on to be widely exported and flown by air forces in over 30 countries. This is the Canadian issue of the Aurora kit (kit no. 140-129, made in Canada) with Jo Kotula box artwork and bilingual English and French instructions.
Box contents:
- Moulded airframe and component parts in white plastic
- Pilot figure and cockpit detail
- Three drop tanks and early AIM-9 Sidewinder air-to-air missiles
- Waterslide decal sheet (U.S. Air Force markings, N156F, serial 56156, national insignia)
- Illustrated assembly instruction sheet (English and French)
