Description

AUA137 - Aurora 1/67 Avro CF-100 All-Weather Fighter - WWWEB10114718

Preowned, Resealed, Mint

The Avro Canada CF-100 Canuck first flew in January 1950. It was the only Canadian-designed fighter ever to go into mass production, and 692 were built at Malton, just outside Toronto. Powered by two Avro Orenda turbojets, it was designed as a two-seat, all-weather interceptor to defend Canada’s North from Soviet bombers. RCAF squadrons also flew it with NATO in Europe. Crews nicknamed it the “Clunk” after the sound its nose gear made when it retracted, and it stayed in Canadian service in various roles until 1981. Aurora’s Canadian-made kit is from the Famous Fighters series of the 1950s.

  • Vintage Aurora Famous Fighters series kit, no. 137
  • Avro CF-100 All-Weather Fighter in RCAF markings
  • Plastic parts, decals and instructions (still sealed in shrink wrap, not inspected)
