Ford’s 1936 models had some of the most elegant styling of the decade, with a pointed grille, flowing fenders and the first steel-stamped wheels to replace wire spokes. The 5-window coupe, named for its side and rear windows, was popular with young buyers and travelling salesmen for the storage space behind the seat. Like all 1936 Fords, it was powered by the flathead V8. Today hot rodders rank the ‘36 among the great “fat-fender” Fords, which makes it a favourite for street rods and customs. This AMT/Ertl kit can be built three ways, including the custom version shown in burgundy and silver.
