Ford’s 1955 and 1956 models were a big break from the past. They introduced the “Y-block” overhead-valve V8, two-tone paint schemes and Thunderbird-inspired styling. The 1956 Victoria was a pillarless two-door hardtop with a wraparound windscreen, chrome side spears and round “bullet” taillights. The optional Thunderbird V8 with dual four-barrel carburettors and dual exhausts made it a strong rival to Chevrolet in the Ford-versus-Chevy debates of the 1950s. This AMT/Ertl 3-in-1 kit builds the Victoria as a stock hardtop, a drag racer or a custom.
