Chevrolet's Fleetline was the fastback half of the postwar lineup, its roof sweeping in one unbroken curve from the windshield to the rear bumper, a shape rodders and lowriders have called the torpedo back ever since. For 1951 the car got a heavier bar grille and revised trim, and under the hood sat the 216 cubic inch Stovebolt inline six, with Powerglide available for buyers who wanted to leave the clutch behind. The Fleetline body was dropped after 1952, which makes the 1951 cars the high point of the style and a perennial favourite for both stock builders and custom work. This Millennium boxing is AMT's Year 2000 Special Edition reissue of the tool first released in the 1970s.
