Bill Cushenbery built the Silhouette in the early sixties, a hand-formed custom with a bubble canopy and no doors that looked like nothing else on the show circuit. When Mattel launched Hot Wheels in 1968 the Silhouette was one of the original Sweet Sixteen castings, which is why this one matters to two different sets of collectors at once. AMT's kit includes the matching bubble-top hauling trailer, packed in a Hot Wheels collector tin.
