The USS Enterprise NCC-1701-D was the flagship of the 24th-century Starfleet and the fifth starship to carry the name Enterprise. Under the command of Captain Jean-Luc Picard, it carried the crew of Star Trek: The Next Generation through seven seasons, from 1987 to 1994, and into the film Star Trek Generations. The Galaxy-class Enterprise-D was twice as long as the original Constitution-class Enterprise and had eight times its interior space, with 42 decks and a combined crew and passenger load of 1,012. Its saucer section could separate from the engineering hull in an emergency. This AMT kit builds an 18-inch (45 cm) model in 1/1400 scale. The parts are moulded in translucent plastic so you can light it, and you can build it with the saucer separated if you like.
