The Spitfire F Mk.22 and Mk.24 were the ultimate production variants of the famous fighter, powered by the Rolls-Royce Griffon 61 and featuring a five-blade contra-rotating propeller, bubble canopy, and a substantially redesigned tail assembly. Over 260 Mk.22s were built, serving with RAF and Royal Auxiliary Air Force squadrons in the post-war period, with the type also serving overseas in Hong Kong. By the time these marks entered service, the Spitfire bore little visual resemblance to the prototype that first flew in 1936.

The A06101A is a 2018 rebox of the Airfix Spitfire F.22/24 tooling first released in 1996. This kit includes the Eduard Limited Edition 1121 aftermarket decal set and Eduard canopy masks.
