The B.XVI was the final major bomber version of the Wooden Wonder, delivered to Bomber Command from 1944 with a pressurised cabin for high altitude operations. Apart from the first twelve airframes, the type carried a modified bomb bay for the 4,000lb Cookie, and B.XVIs served as pathfinders with the Light Night Striking Force on raids deep into Germany. Airfix released this all-new tooling in 2021.
