Description
A03032 - Airfix - 1/72 Fairey Battle (Discontinued) WWHP112832
Preowned Box worn, decals useable but need work or part of decal sheet missing
The Fairey Battle was the RAF's first monoplane light bomber, entering service in 1937 as a replacement for the Hawker Hart biplane. By the outbreak of WWII it was already obsolescent against modern fighters, and it is best remembered for the attack on the Maastricht bridges in May 1940, when five volunteer crews of No. 12 Squadron attacked the target and were all shot down — earning two Victoria Crosses.
Box contents:
- Plastic sprues — full cockpit interior with crew figures, instrument panel, poseable ailerons, optional open or closed wing bomb bays with bomb load, undercarriage poseable up or down
- Clear sprue — multi-piece canopy
- Waterslide decal sheet — two marking options: No. 12 Squadron RAF (Maastricht bridges, 1940) and Belgian Air Force
- Instructions
Paints and glue sold separately.
