Description
AIRA02102 - Airfix 1/72 Supermarine Spitfire Mk.Va - WWWEB10113727
Preowned, Resealed, Mint
The Spitfire Mk.V was built in greater numbers than any other mark and carried the burden of RAF Fighter Command's offensive sweeps over occupied Europe through 1941 and 1942. The Va paired the new Merlin 45 with the original "a" wing and its eight Browning machine guns, giving a lighter, better climbing aircraft than the cannon armed Vb, particularly effective at altitude against the Messerschmitt Bf 109F. This boxing also caters for a Mk.IIa, including the well known Observer Corps presentation aircraft P7666 flown from Hornchurch in 1941.
In the box
- Airfix 1:72 scale injection moulded plastic kit
- Clear sprue with two canopy options
- Optional parts including three propellers, two aerials and two oil coolers to cover both marks
- Waterslide decal sheet printed by Cartograf covering two schemes:
- Supermarine Spitfire Mk.Va, No.164 (Argentine British) Squadron, RAF Peterhead, Aberdeenshire, Scotland, April to September 1942
- Supermarine Spitfire Mk.IIa, P7666 EB-Z "Observer Corps", No.41 Squadron, RAF Hornchurch, 1941
- Illustrated assembly instructions with painting and decal placement guide
