AIRA02070A - Airfix 1/72 F4F-4 Wildcat - WWHP111974
Preowned, Resealed, Mint
The Grumman F4F Wildcat was the US Navy's primary carrier-borne fighter at the start of the Second World War, developed from Grumman's pre-war biplane lineage and recognisable by its stubby, barrel-chested fuselage. The F4F-4 introduced folding wings and heavier armament, becoming the most numerous variant in time for the pivotal battles at Midway and Guadalcanal. Flown with new team tactics, it allowed American naval and Marine pilots to hold their own against the previously dominant Mitsubishi Zero.
