AIRA02063 - Airfix 1/72 Gloster J-8A/Gladiator Mk.II - WWHP113754

Preowned, Resealed, Mint

Includes aftermarket x5

The Gloster Gladiator was the RAF’s last biplane fighter. It entered service in 1937, just as the monoplane era was arriving, but it was the first RAF fighter with an enclosed cockpit and four machine guns. Though soon outclassed, it fought with distinction in Norway, Malta, Greece and the Western Desert, where it earned a place among the famous underdogs of the early war. Sweden bought Gladiators as the J 8 and J 8A. In 1940 Swedish volunteers of the F 19 wing flew them on skis over Finland during the Winter War, painted in winter camouflage with a skull and crossbones insignia, as shown on the box art.

This example includes 5 aftermarket upgrades.

• Light grey plastic sprues with fuselage, wings, struts, Bristol Mercury engine, wheels and skis, plus clear parts
• Decal sheet with two marking options: a Swedish J-8A of F 19 in Finland with skull and crossbones and a yellow “F”, and RAF Gladiator Mk.II N5583, HE-Q, plus stencils
