The Royal Air Force Aerobatic Team, universally known as the Red Arrows, flew its first display season in 1965 and has been Britain's most recognisable aviation ambassador ever since. The team moved onto the BAe Hawk T.1 in 1980, and the type has carried the familiar red, white and blue through thousands of displays around the world. This boxing marks the team's 50th display season in 2014, flown from RAF Scampton with a Union Flag applied across the fins of the fleet for the anniversary year.
