The Focke-Wulf Fw 190 was one of Germany's premier fighters of the Second World War, prized for its rugged construction, heavy armament, and excellent handling. The A-8 was the most-produced variant of the radial-engined series, fitted with a BMW 801 engine and capable of carrying a drop tank or additional firepower for use as an interceptor and fighter-bomber. It served on every front in the war's later years, from the defence of the Reich to the Eastern Front.
