The Boeing 314 Clipper was the pinnacle of pre-war commercial aviation — a massive four-engined flying boat that carried passengers across the Atlantic and Pacific in a level of comfort closer to an ocean liner than a modern airliner. Only twelve were built for Pan American and BOAC, and their service lives were cut short by WWII, after which the era of the great flying boats was effectively over. Churchill and Roosevelt both flew in them during the war.

Airfix's 1/144 kit dates to 1964 and is a North American Craft Master market boxing of that tooling. 76 parts, clear sprue for the glazing, and a flight display stand included. Decals cover both a Pan American and a BOAC scheme — the latter in wartime camouflage. Worth noting that decals on older copies of this kit can yellow with age; check before committing to a scheme.
