The Mi-24 was built on a premise no Western designer accepted, which was that an attack helicopter should also carry a squad of troops. The result is a machine with the frontal armour and stub wing pylons of a gunship and a cabin behind the tandem cockpits, and at 1/72 the long fuselage and five bladed rotor make for a model with real span on the shelf.
