Description
AIR02042 - Airfix 1/72 Hawker Hurricane MKI/IIB - WWWEB10115489
Preowned, Resealed, Mint
Sydney Camm's Hurricane was the RAF's first monoplane fighter and the aircraft that did most of the killing in the Battle of Britain, equipping more squadrons than any other type. The Mk I carried eight Brownings behind a Merlin III, while the Mk IIB of 1941 added the Merlin XX, twelve guns and racks for bombs or drop tanks, turning it into the Hurribomber for cross Channel and desert work. Its fabric and tube rear fuselage made it easy to repair in the field, which kept squadrons flying when Spitfires were still scarce.
In the box:
- Injection moulded plastic parts on grey sprues, Airfix Series 2
- Clear canopy part
- Parts breakdown covering fuselage halves, wings, tailplanes, propeller and spinner, cockpit with seat and pilot, radiator, undercarriage and optional underwing bombs or drop tanks
- Builds as a Mk I or a Mk IIB
- Waterslide decal sheet with markings for two aircraft, Mk I P3069 of 303 Squadron coded RF-C and Mk IIB BE417 of 402 Squadron coded AE-K, plus roundels, fin flashes and stencils
- Folded instruction sheet with exploded assembly diagrams, multilingual history text and decal placement
