The Sd.Kfz.11/4 Nebelkraftwagen was a specialist variant of Germany's standard 3-ton light halftrack, modified with enlarged rear compartments to carry rockets for the Nebeltruppen — Germany's rocket artillery arm. The wider, deeper cargo bed accommodated 15cm and 21cm Nebelwerfer rockets for transport and resupply, and the vehicle also towed the NbW 41 and NbW 42 multiple rocket launchers. The AF35S36 boxing adds the Wurfrahmen 40 fit — the 28cm and 32cm Wurfkörper rockets from the Sd.Kfz.251 Stuka zu Fuss, carried in the enlarged rear compartment for direct-fire use.
