The BMD-1 was a Soviet airborne amphibious infantry fighting vehicle introduced in 1969 to give the VDV airborne forces an air-droppable equivalent to the BMP-1. It shared the BMP-1's turret and armament, a low-pressure 73mm 2A28 Grom gun with a 9M14 Malyutka anti-tank missile launcher, but was kept light enough to parachute into action. It saw heavy use in the Soviet-Afghan War and later conflicts. This is ACE's short-run 1/72 injection kit.
