ACA1660 - Academy 1/72 Focke-Wulf FW 190-D9 - WWHP111381
Preowned, Original seal, Mint
The Focke-Wulf Fw 190D-9, universally known as the "Dora," was Germany's answer to Allied air superiority in late 1944. Replacing the BMW radial with a Junkers Jumo 213A inline engine and a lengthened fuselage, the D-9 offered a substantial improvement in high-altitude performance and speed over earlier Fw 190 variants. Rushed into service in September 1944 primarily to protect Me 262 airfields during the vulnerable take-off and landing phase, it was considered by many pilots to be the best piston-engined fighter the Luftwaffe operated.
